Transcript:
Quinn Tribolet: Where did you grow up?
Jessica Belser: Rockland County in New York.
QT: What you know what you wanted to be when you were growing up?
JB: A vet, I worked at the local pet store when I was fourteen and then at the vet clinic for two years, but I realised that it wasn’t as hands on as I wanted so I decided to become a vet tech.
QT: What inspired you to pursue this career?
JB: I love animals, I loved going to the vet with my dog when I was a kid.
QT: Where did you go to college and why did you choose that college?
JB: A local community college. They had a vet tech program that I wanted to go to.
QT: What is most rewarding and most challenging about your job?
JB: I find it rewarding when I can get everyone to work together and helping the animals feel better. But I would say that managing staff is pretty difficult sometimes. Putting animals down can also be difficult especially when it’s a puppy. Overall, it’s really special when you get to be there from the beginning to the end of a dogs life.
QT: If you were to do something else, what would you be doing?
JB: I think I would be an event planner, I love organising things and being organised.
